Salvador "Chava" Melendez

Salvador “Chava” Melendez, 60, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 Chava, as he was called by his family and friends was a lifelong El Paso resident; attended Jefferson High School and dedicated the last 12 yrs. of his life caring for our beloved Mother. We are eternally grateful brother for what you did. Chava was a jack of all trades, he loved to tinker on various projects, find a good bargain, fix and resell. Chava was a great neighbor, always willing to help anyone that asked. Chava’s passion was going to the casino and loved playing the lottery; his favorite was the Mega lotto. Brother, I know you have now hit the big jackpot resting in God’s loving arms with our mother and our sister. Chava is preceded in death by our mother, Emma C. Melendez, and our sister, Sonia Virginia Melendez. He is survived by his father, Jose R. Melendez; his siblings Emma, Hilda, Carolina, Monica and Jr., and several nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank Nathali Fragoso for all her help and kindness. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am Friday, June 2, 2017 at St. Marks Catholic Church, 11700 Pebble Hills. Entombment to follow at 11:30am at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in the Garden of Peace Mausoleum. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
