My mother, Sallie Mae Brown was born to David & Patsie Grant on 3 May 1920. She was called home by her Lord and Savior at 6:30 am on the 21st of February 2008. Sallie was educated in the public school system of Tallahassee, Florida. She also attended Florida A&M college studying to become a beautician. She moved to New York in 1949 then to Cleveland, Ohio in 1963 and worked as a dietitian. Sallie retired in 1987 and moved to El Paso, Texas to be with her son Gerald B. Brown and family. She joined and became an active member of Sun Valley Baptist Church. Celebrating the joys of her life is her son Gerald B. Brown and wife, Eddie of El Paso, Texas; four sisters, Emma Patterson of New York, Amelia Manuel (Dan) of Tampa, Florida, Dorothy Walker of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mary Buggage of Tallahassee, Florida; brother, Charley Grant of Tallahassee, Florida; two grandchildren, Debra Brown and Denise Brown both of Dallas, Texas; one great grandson, Anthony Freeman of El Paso, Texas; one great granddaughter, Donna Brianna Nicole Johnson of Dallas, Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The viewing will be held at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass from 6 pm until 9 pm on 29 February 2008. The Graveside Service will be held at 11 am on 1 March 2008 at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery at 8700 Dyer St., followed immediately by the Memorial Service at The Sun Valley Baptist Church at 9901 McCombs St. Service entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
