Saldor Godfrey Swenson, 94, passed away April 5, 2010 with his son at his side. He was born in Antler, Sask., Canada on April 17, 1915 and grew up in Rushford, MN. He served in the US Army 1940-1946, and made rank of Master Sergeant, served in the China Burma India Campaign during WWII. He joined the Civil Service and retired in 1982, where he was Shop Foreman in maintenance at Fort Bliss. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joy and two sons, Oscar Thomas Swenson and Wesley Carl Swenson. He is survived by his daughter, Melody Rappleyea, sons, John Henry Swenson and Saldor Alfred Swenson, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Committal Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, April 9, 2010 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Interment: Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
