Russell Virtune Peloquin

August 15, 1912 — May 26, 2011

In loving memory for a life well lived. Russell Victune Peloquin, born August 15, 1912 to Victor and Lillian Nystrom Peloquin, in Worcester, MA, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2011, at the age of 98 years young. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Phillip Peloquin; and sister, Dorothy Arvidson. Russell was passionate about music and spent many of his younger years playing the trumpet for the Worcester Symphony Orchestra. He joined the U.S. Army in 1942 and served in WWII. After the war, he and his family lived in France for several years, where he played in the U.S. Army Band and while serving at Ft. Bliss, he was a member of the 62nd Army Band. He retired from the military after 30 years of service, at the rank of CW3 with Military Honors. His second career was with the U.S. Post Office, retiring after 20 years of service. Russ was a member for 69 years with the Morningstar Masonic Lodge of Boston, MA. Of most importance, Russell was a devoted, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Donnie Waller Peloquin and their four children: Linda Razloznik (Dean Travis) and Kathy Surratt of El Paso, TX, Jeanne Worley of Denver, CO and Phillip Peloquin of Oxford, NC. He was blessed with eight grandchildren: Stacy Peloquin, Troy Peloquin, Brooke McIlroy, Nicole Razloznik, Celina Worley, Kyle Razloznik, Ryan Razloznik and Dylan Surratt and extremely blessed with two great-grandchildren, McKenzie Vlack and Wyatt Schmidt (deceased). Papa, you will remain in our hearts forever. Special thanks to the staff of Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home and Hospice El Paso. A Committal Service with Full Military Honors will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery (West Shelter), on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11 AM. Because of his love for his dogs, Scampy and Comet, and in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Humane Society of El Paso or your favorite charity.
