Russell Abraham Greenberg

June 21, 1941 — February 8, 2024

Russell Abraham Greenberg, born on June 21, 1941 in Bellingham, Washington entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 08, 2024, in Carlsbad, New Mexico at the age of 82. He was a dear friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by many.  Russell is preceded in death by his parents; Russell Wilson Rodwick and Viginia Deane Whitman. He is survived by his older brother, Stanley Greenberg, and his chosen granddaughter, Jessa Muir. He is also survived by many extended friends and family to cherish and honor his memory.

Russell was free spirited and spent his life having one adventure after another. He traveled the country and the world, he loved to kayak and ride his bicycle, he even built his own home out of a cargo trailer so he could be truly free to live anywhere he wanted. He loved to share his stories with anyone who was interested, and when he learned that the end of his life was near, he stated (several times on multiple occasions), “Don’t be sad. I am very happy with the life that I have lived. I have seen more in this world than most people ever dream of seeing, and I am eternally grateful to have had the opportunity to experience the things I did. I am off now to another adventure.”

To the friends of Bill W.: Russell loved you all more than you could ever imagine, even if you were not close. You were his family. May you carry his memory in your hearts with you as you navigate Life, one day at a time.
