Ruben Mora

Ruben Mora was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He went to rejoin his parents Jose and Juanita Mora and brother Carlitos in the kingdom of heaven on Sunday at the age of 66. He is survived by his loving wife Estella Mora, his children Melissa Solórzano, Melinda Calderon, Julie (Robert) Castro, Jennifer (Ruben) Jasso, Ruben Jason (Marlena) Mora, Gabriel (Ericka) Mora, brothers Joe and Tony Mora, sisters Frances Montelongo, Josie Enriquez, Dolores Ortega, Gloria Navariz, Mary Lou Romero, 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and countless family and friends. Ruben was born in Smelter town in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Austin High School and attended El Paso Community College. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1965-1968 and 1972-1975. He worked at the Chamizal National Park Service and Veteran Administration. He loved sports and played softball and golf. Services will be held on Wednesday from 4-9p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home on 750 North Carolina Drive. Rosary starts at 7p.m. Mass will be held Thursday at 11:30a.m. Saint Josephs Church on 3729 Hueco Avenue followed by burial at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with military honors.
