Ruben V. Jurado was called home peacefully after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was born in Marfa, Texas, and raised in El Paso aka El Chuco. In 1982, he married his loving and supportive wife of 39 years.
Ruben loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting with his family. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on his cars. He felt great pride in being a certified drug and alcohol instructor, where he touched countless hearts across the El Paso community. Although he loved teaching, nothing brought greater joy than spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, siblings, nieces and nephews.
Ruben is preceded in death by his parents Cresencio and Hortencia Jurado; brothers Fred V. Jurado and Benjamin “Boy” Jurado; and sister Maria Jesus Portillo. He is survived by his wife Irene Jurado; his sons Ruben (Corina) Jurado, Ozzy Jurado, and Gustavo Robles; his daughters Maribel (Sam) Ronquillo, Isabel (Jose) Yribe, Ivette Jurado, and Ruby Hernandez; along with his 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also leaving behind his brothers Joe Jurado, Baby Jurado, Sammy Jurado, and Mando Jurado; sister Maria Antonia Dominguez; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
