Rosario Chayo Hernandez

Rosario “Chayo” Hernandez, 88, passed on to be with our Lord, Sunday, July 12, 2009 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family. Chayo was our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt and friend. More than anything Grama was our matriach the glue that held our family together and she will be sorely missed. Each of the 127 family members has a special memory of her that will forever be embedded in our hearts, She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jesus, infant son, Ramonsito, daughter; Martha, grandson, Louie, and great-granddaughter, Alexia. She is survived by her children, Ernestina (Joe), Thomas (Maria Elena), Yolanda (Hector), Velia, Dolores, and Sylvia , also survived by 22 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren and 38 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Hospice of El Paso especially Maria Rodriguez. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2009, with a Vigil at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East located at 750 N. Carolina Dr. A Funeral Mass will be at 9:30 am Thursday at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
