On Saturday, October 29th, 2022, Rosa Elena, a loving Sister, Tia, and Friend to many, was called to her heavenly home peacefully at the age 55. As a determined and hard-working woman, she took on many different careers such as assisting in the medical field with her time in medical records and completed years in the United States Navy Reserves using her bilingual skills to aide wherever needed. Through these career changes she found her passion and received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Texas at El Paso to become a bilingual education teacher. She became a teacher in the El Paso Independent School District at the elementary level and completed over 20 years of teaching and bridging the language barrier for her young students. She built countless relationships with fellow educators, administration and of course her students who meant the world to her. Even after her retirement from a fulfilling career, she spent her free time teaching her nephews Spanish and showed them how to develop their love for reading. She loved to travel abroad with her closest friends, Isavel and Gabriela. She was a devoted member of the Abundant Church family. Rosa was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and her community.
As Rosa transitioned from this life into her eternal life, she was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents: Jesus and Esperanza Medrano as well as her sister: Mary Peak, and brothers: Alfredo and Jesus Medrano. She was survived by her brothers Frank, Jose Luis, and Jorge Medrano, sisters in law: Terry and Antonia Medrano, as well as her nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews who all adore her. Rosa was best known for her fierce strength, perseverance in life, and generous spirit. Her smile and positive energy radiated and could light up any room and her memory will be forever treasured. Funeral services for Rosa will be held at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. El Paso, Texas 79907, on Friday, November 11th, 2022, starting at 11 am with a prayer service at 1 pm to be followed by a service to lay her in her final resting place at Mount Carmel Cemetery, 401 S.
