Rosa Maria Garcia

Rosa Maria Garcia, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Center Compassionate Care, El Paso. She was a lifelong resident of El Paso, where she served her community in the nursing field. She spent many years working at Hotel Dieu Hospital and at Sun Towers Hospital. She retired after 35 years of service to help care for her grandchildren whom she loved very much. She had many precious memories of her travels to Mexico with her friends and son. As she got older and became less mobile, she loved to see her novelas in the evening and have family gatherings at home. Rosa is preceded in death by her parents, Antonio and Tomasa Garcia, sister Amparo and brother Hector. Survivors include brothers: Victor, Efren (Dora), and Tony (Carol), sisters: Eva (Gilberto) and Gloria. Also left to cherish her memory is her son Jerry (Lupe) and her beloved grandchildren, Victoria and James, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Special Thanks to Auntie Glorys, Cousin Irma, Cousin Rachel and Cousin Victor for always being there to help care for my mother. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Prayer Service at 6:30 pm Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home East, 750 N. Carolina.
