Rosa M. Crayne

Rosa M. Crayne, 90, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, daughter, and friend. She will be greatly missed. 

Rosa was born in El Paso, Texas on May 24, 1934. She was married to Charles E. Crayne for 56 years. She graduated from Bowie High School and earned a floral design certification from El Paso Community College. She was a lifetime member of El Paso Quilters’ Association. 

Her hobbies were quilting, gardening, and casinos. She loved sharing stories of her youth, reminiscing about her love story of how she met her husband, and her life as a military wife. She was proud to contribute her heritage to the El Paso Museum of History in the “Neighborhood and Shared Memories” exhibit. Her fondest memories were of Germany, Las Vegas, and Paris, France. She devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

Rosa is preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Rodney, granddaughter Crystal, parents Salvador and Rosa Fierro, brothers Salvador and Carlos Fierro, sister Elvira Valenzuela, and her beloved grandmother Petra Fierro. 

She leaves behind her children, Glinda Jones (husband, Henry), Charles R. Crayne (wife, Gloria), Margaret LeBlanc, Cynthia Crayne, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. Scripture Service will be held at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson.
