Beloved husband and father, Romulo Chavira, 77, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 7:00 A.M. surrounded by his family.
Romulo, Rom to his friends; Mono to his sister, was born in El Paso, Texas on November 5th, 1946. Romulo graduated from Ysleta High School and left to serve his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Romulo would later marry the love of his life in 1969, Hilda Noemi.
Romulo was a voracious reader, who loved Western movies and books, and was an enthusiastic gym athlete; running and weightlifting before it was fashionable.
Romulo is preceded in death by his parents; Pablo and Adela Chavira. He leaves behind his wife of fifty-four years Hilda Noemi, sons; Ray, Norberto (Laura), and daughter, Hilda (Bobby); his pride and joy grandchildren: Isabelle, Alejandro, Celeste, Jenna, and Brayden; and sister, Ella.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Home - East 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday November 8, 2024 at St. Paul Catholic Church at 12:00 PM, 7424 Mimosa. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
