1st Sergeant Roger D. Carter USA (Ret) 66, passed away on December 3, 2011 in El Paso, TX. A 22 year Army Veteran with service in Korea and Vietnam. He was awarded the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara, Business Manager of the Fort Bliss RV Park; 40 Years of service to the government of the United States of America; Avid fisherman, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Wanda Maxine Carter; his brother, Terrell H. Carter and son, Steven Doyle Carter. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 40 years Hermelinda; son, Roger D. and daughter-in-law, Judith; son, Christopher A. of El Paso, TX; daughter, Barbara Ann of Burleson, TX; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Gill of Abilene, TX; and brothe, Dois R. of Amarillo, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Disabled American Veterans or your favorite charity. Visitation will be at Sunset Funeral Home, 4631 Hondo Pass, on December 7, 2011 from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral Service will be at Sunset Funeral Home, on December 8, 2011 at 12:15 pm. Committal Service to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors at 1:30 pm.
