Rodolfo Diaz Vaca

Rodolfo Diaz Vaca, 98, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023

Rodolfo was born in Cd. Juarez, Chih., Mexico on May 14, 1925.  He had to leave school before he could finish the sixth grade to help his parents as the eldest son.  He held firmly that education was the key to a better future.  He was proud to see his children all graduate from school. 

He taught himself how to speak English and eventually would find his way to the United States where he would meet his wife and eventually move to El Paso, Texas and establish himself as an independent contractor, carpenter and architect.    He designed and built his home and three other homes in his neighborhood that still stand to this day.

Rodolfo is preceded in death by his parents Rodolfo and Maria de Jesus Vaca, and his wife Otilia L. Vaca of 54 years.  He leaves behind his daughter, Rosa Ana Vaca-Ramos (Paul Lamb), his Grandson Derek A. Huerta and his children Aiden and Devin with Corina and his Grandson Tomas Huerta, III and wife Marissa and Great-granddaughters Starr, Addison, Mackenzie, and Penelope.

Gathering of Remembrance will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM, Friday, December 22, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina.
