Roberto Leo Sotelo

Roberto L. Sotelo was granted his angel wings April 29, 2013. His final days were spent surrounded by family. Mr. Sotelo was born October 18, 1942 in El Paso, Texas to Gonzalo Jr. and Elena Sotelo both of El Paso. He graduated from El Paso High, attended college at UTEP and served in the U.S. Army. He also was a member of the National Guard Reserve for over 20 years. Roberto loved music and played guitar for most of his adult life including a stint with Chuck Berry. Roberto is preceded in death by his parents Gonzalo Jr. and Elena Sotelo. He is survived by his son Chris Sotelo, beloved spouse Irma Burillo Sotelo and step kids; Pat Miller, Jesse, Eddie and Rudy Munoz and Ceci Cardwell. Robert also leaves behind brothers and sisters; Richard, Norma Jones, Sylvia Espinosa, Reynaldo, Frank and close cousins Felipe Sanchez and Leo Vasquez. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Shahinian and Dr. Romero and everyone at Hospice of El Paso who nurtured and cared for him throughout his illness and his final days. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 5:00-9:00PM with Rosary to begin at 7:00PM. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30AM, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Our Lady of Assumption Church, with Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
