Roberto M. Rodriguez

Roberto M. Rodriguez, 78, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Roberto was born in Douglas, AZ on June 11, 1939. He was a 1958 graduate of El Paso Technical High School, then left to serve his country in the United States Air Force. On July 18, 1964 he married the love of his life, Cecilia. Roberto worked as a civil servant for the United States Army and then for the U. S. Border Patrol for a total of 40 years and retired in 2004. His talents and hobbies included golfing, bowling, drawing and music. He played guitar for The Christ the Savior Choir for over 20 years. He tended faithfully to his Koi pond and enjoyed woodworking. He was initiated as a 4th Degree brother of the Knights of Columbus in 1985. Roberto was preceded in death by his parents; Ramona and Gonzalo Rodriguez and his sisters, Maria Happney and Virginia Huerta. He leaves behind his siblings; Gonzalo, Eduardo, Gloria and Consuelo; his wife Cecilia of 53 years; son Ramon Alberto; daughter Cecilia Yvonne; son-in-law Michael and grandsons Cysco Xavier and Derek Michael. Visitation will be from 5:00pm-9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary beginning at 7:00pm on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home-Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass will begin at 9:30am on Tuesday, January 09, 2018 at Christ the Savior Catholic Church, 5301 Wadsworth. Committal Service will follow at 11:00am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
