Roberto Fierro

Whether you had just met him or had known him for years, Robert “Tom” Fierro was a man that put a smile on your face. He was born in El Paso, Texas on May 12, 1928. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps and served proudly from 1948 – 1952. He met his beautiful wife Mary when they both attended Bowie High School as proud Bears. They had been married for 58 years when she preceded him in death on June 12, 2009. Also preceding him in death on July 17, 2006 was his wonderful daughter-in-law Helen Fierro. Robert met our dear Lord peacefully in his home on October 9, 2012 at the age of 84 years. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Robert and Tencha Fierro; daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Michael Monroe Sr.; daughter Jo-Ann Fierro; son-in-law Jose Guzman; and son John T. Fierro; all of El Paso, Texas. He is also survived by his grandchildren that cherished him: Jacob, Krystal, Christine, Michael Jr., Samantha, Bryan, Brandon, Jason, Kayla and an extended loving family of great grand children, nieces and nephews. We would like to give a special thanks to his niece Gina Hacker who has been very loving and supportive. Tom is also survived by many of his Bowie Bear friends from the wonderful class of 1948. A special thanks to Envision Hospice for their professional and tender care; especially to Marcos for his patience and kindness. Another special thanks to Dr. Portillo, Dr. Silva and Dr. Traylor for being there when our father needed you. Robert was always there for you if you needed a helping hand. He was a wonderful neighbor and a great friend. We will miss his generous heart and loving smile. He is now under God’s loving care. Visitation: 5-9pm, Vigil/Rosary: 7pm on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass: Wednesday, October 17, 2012, 10am at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
