On Friday, May 27th, 2022, Roberto (Bobby) Aguilar, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away at the age of 88.
Roberto was born on June 20, 1933, in El Paso, Texas to Carlos S. Sr. and Elodia B. Aguilar. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School where he represented the school in State Track Finals running the 400 meters and high jump. Roberto was a decorated Korean War Veteran having served in Btry ”B” 933rd AAA BN. He worked for Civil Service at Ft. Bliss as a certified Welder, and autobody man. After 20 years he retired from Civil Service.
On February 8, 1958, he married Concepcion (Connie) Arizpe. They spent 64 blessed years in marriage, and raised two daughters, Irma A. and Ida A.
Roberto was a very caring individual who took great joy in spending precious moments with his daughters, grandsons, great-grandson, and his son-in-law’s. He shared many wonderful years with all his family, instilling in them his love for camping, fishing, hiking, boating, and hunting. Roberto was known by many as a kind and generous man. He possessed many talents, had an excellent work ethic, was playful, and was of a creative nature. He took great pride in having built his own home and providing his wife and daughters a brand-new abode. He was quite athletic and enjoyed playing handball, bike riding, jogging, and lifting weights. He was a great dancer with his wife Connie. He enjoyed long bike rides with his grandsons and great grandson.
Roberto was proceeded in death by his father Carlos S. Sr., his mother Elodia, his sister Armida, his brother Carlos II, and his beloved grandson and little pal Jeremy Adam Talamantes.
He is survived by his wife Concepcion Arizpe Aguilar, daughters, Irma A. (Ernesto) Olivas, Ida A. (Joseph A.) Talamantes. His grandsons, Raymond Robert (Michelle) Dorado, Joseph Anthony Talamantes II, and his great-grandson Benjamin Ernesto Dorado, his brother, Leo (Rosie) Aguilar and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be held on Monday, June 6, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home East, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, TX 79915. Funeral Mass will be held on June 7, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Pius Catholic Church, 1050 N Clark Dr, El Paso, TX 79905. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson at 11:00 a.m.
The Family wishes to thank the Doctors and staff at the VA, most especially Dr. S. Aaluri, Encompass Hospice, nurses Samantha and Andy for their compassionate care.
