Robert Edward Williams was born on September 18, 1947 and went to be with our Lord in Heaven on March 15, 2012. He was preceded in death by his dad, Arthur Edward Williams. Robert is survived by soul mate and beloved wife, Patricia (Gail) Williams,daughter; Toni Ann (Scott) Jarrin, and grandchildren; Justin and Nicholas Jarrin. He is also survived by mother; Nicomedes (Irene) Williams, Sisters; Lola (Brian) Olmstead and Mary L. Williams. Brothers; Javier, Arthur A. (Rosanna) and Gene H. Williams. Robert has 7 nieces and 6 nephews. Robert served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. He was also in active reserve for 2 years and received an honorable discharge. He was an avid Cowboy Fan and loved to ride Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Robert was a long haul truck driver for many years. He drove for Herman Miles and Reuben Prepared Foods. He received an award for driving a million miles accident free. He also worked for South Western Contractors and Riggers as a Crane Operator. A notable feat was assisting in the assembly and hoisting of the flagpole that flies the Mexican National Flag at the Chamizal Park in Juarez. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Clint Methodist Church for their prayers and support and Pastor Janice Kahl during this difficult time. Very special thanks to Pastor Charlie Flores who will be conducting the services. Pallbearers are; Tom Handforth, Patrick Ohara, Arthur Williams, Javier Williams, Gene Williams and Keith Williams. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
