Robert Ok Tibuni

September 28, 1935 — July 30, 2010

Robert “Bobby” Tibuni was born on September 28, 1935 in El Paso, Texas and passed away on July 30, 2010. His parents were the late Fidel and Isaura Tibuni. Bobby, a life-long resident of El Paso, graduated from Texas Western College in June 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He was married to the late Hortencia Tibuni for 47 years. He retired from White Sands Missile Range, Army Materials Test and Evaluation Directorate after 35 years of dedicated service. An accomplished sportsman, Bobby enjoyed talking about his hunting and fishing adventures. He was a world traveler and was always planning his next trip. His most recent trip to Africa with his brothers was a once in a lifetime experience. He was an avid lifetime golfer and an excellent competitive pool player. On weekends, he attended auctions and spent much of his time collecting antiques. Bobby also enjoyed working in his beautiful garden. Never at a loss for words, Bobby was a well-read man and was curious about all subjects with a never-ending thirst for knowledge. He was a bit shy, but when you got to know him, he was a great conversationalist. He was always willing to share his opinion. If you did not know his position on something, either you were not paying attention or he had just not come around to the subject. He had a way of filling a room and his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
