Robert Olivares

Robert “Bobby” Olivares, age 74, born July 16, 1936 in San Antonio, TX went to the Lord on August 14, 2010. He was preceded in death by this mother, Aurora Olivares and by his sister, Beatrice Diaz and his brother, Joe “Sonny” Olivares. He is survived by his sister, Belia Rosas of San Antonio, TX and many nieces and nephews. After serving many years in the military, both the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Navy, he began his career with U.S. Customs in San Ysidro, CA as an inspector. Upon retiring, he moved to El Paso to be close to family and friends. While in El Paso he lived a full life. He was a happy go-lucky, carefree person. He will be missed dearly by all especially by his faithful and loving German Sheppard, “Buddy”. Visitation will be at Sunset Funeral Home – East on Monday, August 16th from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm with a rosary mass at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 17th at 9:30 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church followed with a burial at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
