Robert M. Nelson

CPT Robert M. Nelson (U.S. Army Retired), 78, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 in El Paso, Texas. Bob was born December 30, 1932 in Tacoma, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert William Nelson and Anne Elizabeth Cashion Nelson; his wife, Alice Boots Nelson (White); and his brother, Richard W. Nelson. He is survived by his sons: Zachary R. Nelson, Michael W. Nelson, Patrick R. Nelson, Sean K. Nelson, Thomas J. Nelson, Ronald V. Nelson, and Robert F. Nelson; daughters: Leslie A. Nelson and Nancy M. Nelson; 21 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with family and friends as well as camping and fishing. Bob was a friend of Bill W. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm with a Vigil Rosary to begin at 7pm, Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Mass will begin at 12pm, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A Committal Service will begin at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. “One Day at a Time”
