Robert Samuel Morrow

January 19, 1924 — December 21, 2009

Robert Samuel (Sam) Morrow, 85, Northeast El Paso resident, was born and raised in Eupora, Mississippi. He proudly served in WWII and was a German POW. After the war, Sam began his career as a telephone man, working for Southern, Mountain, and Southwestern Bell. He married Maxine McGuire, had four children and moved to El Paso in 1965. An active member of Tobin Park United Methodist Church, Sam loved singing in the choir and Jolly Elders activities. He enjoyed YMCA water aerobics, gardening, and helping others. He is preceded in death by his wife Maxine, parents John Alex and Bessie Morrow, and sisters Adelaide Payne, Mildred Morrow, and Mary Eleanor Randall. He is survived by his children, Bonnie Ayer, Jane, Bob and Mark Morrow, grandchildren Justin and Eric Ayer, Bobby Morrow, Devin and Christy, Ethan and Sammy Morrow, great granddaughter Anastasia, brothers John and Ed Morrow and sister Elizabeth Cummings. Visitation: 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Sunday, December 27 at Sunset Funeral Home NE. Funeral: Monday, 9:00 am, December 28 at Tobin Park United Methodist Church. Interment: Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial Contributions: Tobin Park UMC, 5501 Wren Ave, El Paso, TX 79924. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast.
