Robert F. Mayhall

Robert F. Mayhall, age 74 and a lifelong resident of El Paso passed away Friday, June 4, 2010. He was born October 7, 1935 to Louise and William Mayhall. Robert attended Dudley Elementary School, El Paso High, Texas Western and the University of Texas at Austin Law School. After his schooling, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army and was honorably discharged as a Captain. Following his years in the military, he practiced with his father and then practiced with Brewster and Mayhall. Besides working as an attorney for 52 years, Mr. Mayhall was a member of the El Paso Bar Association, a member of the El Paso Historical Society and a former Board member of Thomason Hospital now University Medical Center. He brought much joy and wisdom to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, never forgotten and will be remembered as being a man of amazing integrity. Robert is survived by his wife Dorothy; son Robert Mayhall of Austin, TX; daughters Marguerite Mayhall (Brian Murdock) of Green Brook, NJ and Laura Mayhall (Michael Dunn) of Silver Spring, MD; step-sons John Haynes (Leeann) of Dallas, TX and James Haynes of Spring, TX; brother William Mayhall Jr. of Albuquerque; sister Mary Lou Smith of El Paso. Robert is also survived by two grandchildren Renzo Murdock Mayhall and Isabel Dunn; two step grandchildren Jennifer Lambert (Bill) and Joshua Haynes; two great grandchildren Tyler and Travis Lambert; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Celebration of Robert’s life will be held Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home West. A gathering and reception will follow at the family home.
