Robert Lyles,

Robert D. Lyles, Jr., 94, passed away on July 2, 2012. He was born on May 23, 1918 in Balmorhea, Texas. He was a WWII Veteran Staff Sergeant, 32nd Infantry Division, who received two Bronze Stars while serving as a medic. His family moved to El Paso in 1962. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lucy Lyles; brothers, Ben and DeeDee. He is survived by his sisters, Valda, Edith, Viola and Johnnye. He is also survived by his wife of 64 years, Polly; son, Jerry (Norma) and daughter, Irma (Marty); four grandchildren, Jerry, Sandy, Christina, and Anna; and six great-grandsons, Jerry, Jeremy, Joshua, Jacob, James, and John. Visitation will be held from 5-9pm, with a Vigil/Rosary to begin at 7pm, Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Funeral Service will be held at 9:45am, Friday, July 6, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
