Robert Vernon Leverett

Our be beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather Robert Vernon Leverett 91, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, he was born July 22, 1918 in Grenville, NM. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years, Olga M. Leverett, father; William Henry, mother; Mary Annie Hall, brothers; Raymond, and Roy and sister; Hallen. He is survived by his son; William B. Leverett (Phyllis), and daughter; Kathy S. Newport (Lee), 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army and was stationed in New Guinea. He was also a member of the Mason Lodge of the Scottish Rite Temple, and was an avid catfish fisherman at Elephant Butte Lake. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Sunday, October 25, 2009 with a Prayer Service at 7 pm at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N.
