Robert L. “Bob” Lebkowsky passed away at 84 on October 6th, 2011 surrounded by family and loved ones. He was a very kind man with a big heart, who loved his many friends and family. His quick wit, sense of humor, and ability to tell stories brought smiles and laughter to those close to him. Bob was born to AK and Florence Lois Lebkowsky in Haskell, Texas on October 30, 1926. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, serving from February 1945 to November 1946. He was honorably discharged as a Technician Fifth Grade having served in the Army Signal Corp. After his service Bob settled in Big Spring, Texas joining his father and brother, Vance, in the family wholesale beer business. He came to El Paso in 1976 and retired with Sears working in the installed floor covering department. Bob was an active member of Masonic Fraternity #1111, in El Paso and enjoyed his participation in all Masonic activities. The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home, for the loving care and attention they provided our dad. God Bless and keep you all. Bob is survived by his son Michael of Webster, Texas and stepchildren Doug Rountree also of Webster, and Karen Rountree Chrane of Austwell, Texas, many grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his close personal friend and companion Shirlee Smith of El Paso and her faithful companion “Cricket”. Visitation will be held from 3-6pm, Monday, October 10, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast with a Funeral Service to begin at 4:00pm. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 12th at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas.
