Robert Kincaid, aka Roy, was born in Gourock, Scotland, on October 3, 1945, to Thomas Harper and Christina Robinson Kincaid. The family immigrated to America in 1950, where Thomas was employed with El Paso Natural Gas Company, as was Roy from 1966 to 2001, retiring as Manager of Human Resources.
As part of the EPNG community, Roy grew up at #1 company station, near Carlsbad, N.M. and the El Paso station during his teen years, where he graduated from Parkland High School in the first graduating class of 1964. The close relationships established among the EPNG families and employees were significant throughout his life.
His college and work experiences were set aside in 1967 with his enlistment in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Surfbird, stationed in Sasebo, Japan, as signalman, SM3, offering him the opportunity to see the world, to include the waters in and around Vietnam. Before returning from a leave of duty, in 1968, he married his high school sweetheart, maintaining a life-long love and being a devoted father to their two children, Lori and Wesley.
Beyond work and family, his major interest was sports, participating in EPNG and community leagues in basketball, baseball, softball, bowling, flag football, and especially golf. He was also known to have made several contributions to various casinos around the country from time to time and frequently enjoyed cruising and vacationing with friends and family, especially after retirement. Roy was a resident of El Paso, TX, until 2014 when he and his wife, Terra, relocated to Huntersville, N.C., to be near their children and grandchildren. After years of congestive heart failure, he succombed peacefully at home on March 23, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Terra; daughter Lori (and Ed) Oman; son Wesley (Elias Christopher, partner); and grandchildren Dakota and Devyn Oman, all of Concord & Huntersville, N.C., and his brother, Thomas (and Janet) Kincaid of El Paso, TX.
Charles Campbell, family friend, will officiate with Wesley Kincaid, Tom Kincaid, Ed Oman, Dakota Oman, Philip Sobey , and Elias Christopher as pallbearers.
His visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. His graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave. There will be a celebration gathering following the graveside service at 902 Park Dr.
