Robert Paul Heckerman

Mr Robert Heckerman, age 64, passed away on December 26, 2017. Robert was born in Fort Hood, TX to Donald Heckerman and Vida Heckerman. Robert was married to the late Peggy B. Heckerman in 1985. Robert joined the USAF in 1972, spent 8 years as a Military Police Officer before becoming a Texas DPS Trooper from 1980 to 1986. He was Chief of Police in Littlefield TX from 1986 -1988, until heading back to Texas DPS to pursue his dream of becoming a Texas Ranger. His dream was cut short by a tragic car accident that forced his retirement in 1989. He is survived by parents Retired U.S. Army LTC Donald Heckerman and Vida Heckerman of Whitney TX; brother Don Heckerman of Whitney TX; daughter Cynthia Manross and Husband Justin of Perryton TX; grandchildren Breeanne, Emily and Rowdy of Perryton TX, step-son Raymond Roberts and wife Christine of Lubbock TX; step-son Charles Roberts and wife Darlene of Tucson AZ. He was preceded in death by his brothers Joe Brent and David Heckerman. Services for Mr Robert Heckerman will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop. Burial will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors at 1:30 p.m. in El Paso, Texas The Rev. Dr. Lin Lilley officiating.. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
