Robert Lee Goad

September 13, 1935 — January 21, 2009

Robert Lee Goad, our loving Papa, went marching in at the age of 73, on January 21, 2009. He was born in Lubbock, Texas, and was the firstborn and only son to Chalmers and Merle Goad on September 13, 1935. He was a 1954 graduate of Lubbock High school, 1960 graduate of Texas Tech and a member of Kappa Sigma. In 1964, he married his one true love and best friend Linda Goad; whom he was married to for 44 years. Together they dedicated their life to raising their two children Brandi and Barry Goad and loving and caring for their families. He was an avid sports fan and shared his love of sports with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an honest, ethical man of integrity who worked hard and devoted 60 years of his life to the automotive parts industry. He was strong man of GOD, who lived out his faith in his service to others. He was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for 39 years where he taught Sunday school and volunteered time to helping those in need. He had a huge heart for helping others and he did so silently, with a humble heart and no need for recognition. He is survived by his wife Linda Goad, daughter Brandi LeBlanc of Lewisville Texas, son Barry Goad and wife Jaime of El Paso, Sister Sara and husband Jay Nabours, of El Paso, Glorianne and husband Kenneth Rhorer of Golden, Colorado, and Kathy Flaten and husband Bud of Midland, Texas. Grandson Craigh and wife Eryn LeBlanc, Michael and Matthew ware, granddaughters Cydne and Shelby Le Blanc and Cheyenne and Lauren Goad, Great Grandsons Noah Cole and Logan Kyler LeBlanc and many nieces and nephews. Visitation service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home East - 2 - 5 pm January 25, 2009. Church services will be held on Monday January 26 at 2 pm. St. Paul’s United Methodist Church 7000 Edgemere. We love our dear Papa and he will be greatly missed. We are comforted in knowing that GOD welcomed him with open arms into the gates of heaven- Well done good and faithful servant.
