Robert J. Foley

Dr. Robert J. Foley died July 9, 2007. Born May 1, 1931 in Springfield, MA son of the late Harold T. Foley Sr. and Mary Foley of West Springfield, MA. Graduated from Westfield State Teachers College with a Bachelors and Masters Degree. Served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Studied at the University of Vienna, Austria. He received his PHD at New York University. Taught in Toule, France and Naha, Okinawa for the United States Government. Also was director of the Art Department in Enfield, CT. On moving to the El Paso area he volunteered with the youth group and had been Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Matthews Church. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of forty years, Ann Mary Foley, brother Edward F. Foley and sisters Mary F. Papadakis, Patricia M. Green and Katherine E. Olsen and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 9 m. Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home-West with a vigil at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am, Friday, July 13, 2007 at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
