It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Chavana on March 15, 2023, at the age of 61. Born on December 27, 1961 in El Paso, Texas, Robert was a strong and intelligent man with a fighting spirit.
As a machinist mate in the US Navy, Robert served 24 years being a mentor to some, a teacher to many, but always a salty sailor at heart.
After traveling the world, including working at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Antarctica, Robert made many friends, but only a select few he would call true.
In good times and bad, Robert's devotion to his wife and children were his constant.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Faustina Chavana and his brother Ramon Chavana Jr. He is survived by his wife Samantha, daughter Liliana as well as daughter Esther Starcher (David) and son Timothy Chavana (Rita); grandchildren Antonia, Nadia, Xandra and Keiron. He is also survived by eight sisters and brother Ricardo (Patty).
