Rita O. Zuniga

Rita O. Zuniga, 81 years old, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022.

Rita was born in El Paso, Texas on September 17, 1940. She graduated from Ysleta High School and would later marry Manuel Zuniga on January 7, 1961. They were married for 61 years.

Rita worked as an Instructional Assistant for 19 years in the Ysleta Independent School District. She was her happiest when she cared for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rita leaves behind her husband, Manuel, five children; Manuel Jr., Maria Socorro, Teresa, Isabel and Daniel, grandchildren; Christopher, Marcus, Daniel Gregg, Joseph, Eric and Hannah and great-grandchildren; Lilybeth and Azul.

Visitation will be between 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Homes-East, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, TX 79915.

Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, 8600 Winchester, El Paso, TX 79907. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
