Rita Cardiel

Rita Cardiel Ortega, 77, passed away on Friday, January 07, 2022. She was born in Inde, Durango on May 22, 1944. She moved to Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, as a young child. As a young adult she moved to Cloudcroft, New Mexico, where she met the father of her children, Jose T. Cardiel. She then moved to Alamogordo for a few years and eventually moved to El Paso, Texas. Rita and her family have resided here for over 45 years. Rita worked for Farah. She was a night shift supervisor at Jerky Treats (Heinz Pet Products) for 24 years. She eventually retired from E.P.I.S.D ( Crosby cafeteria ) Rita was preceded in death by her brothers, Victor and Santos Ortega, and her parents Jose Ortega and Maria Petra Macias Ortega. Rita leaves behind her sister Lorena Cardenas. Rita's children: Carmen Marquez (Husband - Fernando Marquez; 3 children - Monica, Karina, Francisco; 5 grandchildren - Rylan, Madison, Damian, Lilly, Jay), Mauricio Cardiel (Wife - Angelina Cardiel; 4 children - Nathaniel, Tatiana, Noah, Cassandra; 1 grandchild - Emma), Raquel Castillo (3 children - Cristina, Omar, Isaac; 4 grandchildren - Angel, Mia, Gianna, Stephanie), Alejandro Cardiel (7 children - Joshua, Victoria, Isabella, Giselle, Christian, Ashley, Alexa; 6 grandchildren - Salvador, Amelia, Ruben, Roman, Bellamarie, Jonathan), Oscar Cardiel (Wife: Debbie Cardiel) and Lorena Castillo Husband - Isaac Castillo; 2 children - Olivia, David) Mom, we will always miss your love, your tender heartedness, and your faithfulness. We love you. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm, on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 9025 Diana. Committal Service to follow at 11:30 am at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza.
