Richard Lee Wiest

Richard Lee Wiest, Sr., 69, passed away April 13, 2017. He was born in Hanover, Illinois to August Christopher Wiest, Sr. and Lillian Marie Wiest. Richard proudly served in the United States Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. He dedicated his life to law enforcement which included serving his community in the Socorro and Clint Police Department. He is survived by his loving wife; Irma Wiest, sons; Richard Lee Wiest, Jr., Robert Dan Wiest, Robin Dean Wiest, daughter; Irma Marie Wiest, 6 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Richard is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Robert Wiest of Arkansas, Marion Wiest of Iowa, June Cheney of El Paso, TX, William Hartline of Macclenny, FL, John Wiest of Jacksonville, FL, Judy Parks of Livingston, MT, Vickie Thick, Macclenny, FL and Fred Wiest, Macclenny, FL. A Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
