Preceded in death by his father, Refugio Varela, Richard is survived by his mother, Anita Varela, sister, Grace Terrazas and brother, Santiago Varela. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM, Thursday, August 29, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Service will be at 12:45 PM, Friday, August 30, 2024 at Sunset Funeral Homes- East. Interment will follow at 2:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
