Richard J. "Dick" Thorpe

On December 4, at 1:20pm, Dick Thorpe took his final breath and left for his new home with our Heavenly Father. Dick always enjoyed looking at homes and finding the perfect place to live with Lulu. How fitting that he has gone before Lulu to find and decorate one of the many rooms that Jesus has saved and prepared. Dick embraced his Catholic Faith. He loved his Queen of Peace Community. More than anything, he loved Lulu and his family. Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Lulu; his children, Penni Thorpe (Paul Buchanan), Pam Grant, Steve Ramsey (Amy), Lisa Morrissey, Kelley Thorpe Baker; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two nieces; and the whole Wasaff clan . Dick had many interests. After he retired from a stellar career with GTE, he volunteered with the Hub of Human Innovation mentoring budding entrepreneurs. Dick also successfully led the effort to recolonize Delta Upsilon Fraternity at Syracuse University. Golf, was his other passion. Dick was a Director of Sun Country Golf Association and a Trustee of PAC Coast Golf Association. Dick was a quiet man who loved his family and held those he loved close to his heart. Rest In Peace Dick. As you held us, we will forever hold you in our hearts.
