Richard Thomas Smith

1Richard T. Smith, born in Whitmire South Carolina, entered into the hands of his Lord on Wednesday, November 04, 2020 at the age of eighty-six. He was a loving son, husband,father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many near and far. He loved his pets and cared for stray or injured feral cats, birds, and yes turtles too. Richard served his country proudly as a United States Air Force Staff Sergeant and was a Vietnam Veteran. His second retirement was with the United States Postal Service. He will be dearly missed. He is preceded in death by his beloved father and mother, Leo R. Smith and Edna Propes Smith, his brother Jhue Smith and niece Lynette Likes.Richard is survived by his loving wife Maria (Tona) A. Diaz Smith. his son Charles R. Smith & wife Linda Milam. Daughters; Margaret Greeson, Shirley J. Hanley, Donnie Sue Malpass, Daina Smith DeLuca, and his younger brother,James (Jimmy) Smith. and wife Trudy He also leaves behindten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.A Gathering of Remembrance will be from 10:00am —1:00pm on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Sunset Funeral Home —Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Dr
