Richard Portillo

Richard Portillo, 59, passed away August 17th, 2007 in El Paso. A lifelong resident of El Paso, he went to Jefferson High School and then made his living as an electrician. He is preceded in death by his parents Salvador and Marcelina and his siblings Salvador, Linda and Ruben. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Elva, his children Richard (Julie), Angela, Robert (Jessica), Amy (Rich), and his grandchildren Anthony, Benjamin, and Lexy. He is also survived by his siblings Beatrize, Maruca, Maguerita, and Raul as well as his sisters in law Corina, Becky, Berta, Aurora, Sandy, Silvia, Martha, Norma, and Maggie. A very special thank you to Dr. Mark Aung and his incredible staff for all they have done for Richard and his family, especially his “special nurse”, Elia. Also thank you to all the nurses of Del Sol Medical Center, 3 South, for taking such good care of him. He was loved by all he met and brought a smile to everyone’s face no matter what the situation. He will be sorely missed, but he is resting with his Lord in heaven with a new healthy body and working on a ’55 Chevy. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2007 with funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21st , 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home - Northeast Chapel.
