Richard Douglas Moreno passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was born on March 12, 1950 in Greenville, SC and was the second child born to Ignacio and Rose Moreno, who have preceded him in death.
Richard met and married Ingrid his beloved wife of 27 years, at Cross of Grace Church. It was there they shared life and ministry together. Richard served Cross of Grace Church faithfully as a Care group Leader for 20 years, was on the church financial oversight committee and also beautifully maintained the church grounds. He was currently serving on the church security team.
He graduated from Bel Air High School in 1968 and was active in baseball, football and a member of the Letterman’s Club.
He worked at K-Mart Tire Department, Yearwood Tire, and Chevron/Western Refining where he then retired after 28 years of service.
Richard had a passion for studying bible theology. His most treasured times were being with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. RV’ing and golf were two of his favorite hobbies.
He is survived by his wife, Ingrid Moreno, children Richard Eric (Anna) Moreno, Renee Elizabeth Moreno, Mark William (Rebecca) Moreno, and grandchildren, Andrew, Julian and Serenity Moreno, Anaya and Aria Torres, Ian, Aiden and Evan Moreno. His brother Larry (Lucia) Moreno, sisters: Roselyn Calderon and Linda (Miguel) Martinez, along with many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM, Friday, May 28, 2021 at Cross of Grace Church, 4700 Leeds. Interment will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Evergreen East Cemetery, 12400 Montana.
