Richard H. Knox, 91, died February 9, 2023 with family by his side. He was born on May 7, 1931 in Upper Darby PA to Richard and Rachel (Taggart) Knox.
Richard graduated from Radnor High School, Class of 1949, where he was a member of the radio, rifle and projection/photography clubs; interests that continued throughout his life.
He was an electronic engineer working at Pan American (GMRD) and then Lockheed Engineering Sciences Company for 30 years. He helped bring new instrumentation innovations using the XN3 radar and pioneering integrated circuit use on the range. He retired in 1995.
He was a great lover of music, especially jazz and was a volunteer DJ at KXCR and KTEP radio stations with his own show “Round Midnight” focusing on the Big Band Era.
He was a member of El Paso Friends of Jazz for 14 years and served on the board. He was a devoted member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 56 years, Conchita, and his loving daughters Connie E. and Rachel A. (Paul). He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM, with Rosary at 6:00 PM on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes- Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
