It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ricardo “Richie” Real y Vasquez Sr., 78, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Richie was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Richie is preceded in death by his parents Raul and Celia Real y Vasquez. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Josephine “Josie”, daughter Joella (Bill), and son Rick (Laura). He is also survived by his siblings Mary (Frank), Raul Jr. (Alicia), and Melissa (Robert). Also left behind to cherish in those wonderful memories are his Grandkids, Samantha and Liam. He also adored his Fur babies, Summer and Chato.
Richie was a Vietnam Veteran with the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1968 and was honorably discharged. He worked in a Civil Service capacity until retiring with the United States Border Patrol. Richie enjoyed life to the fullest with his love for all, not only his family but his many friends. He loved spending time with his parents and family with the many get togethers, grilling time, Tamalada, and most especially watching the Cowboys.
Richie’s greatest love was Josie. From the early days to the more recent days, they were inseparable. Richie loved to see and hear of the activities of the younger generation including dance, gymnastics, T-Ball, and of course school.
