Ricardo Guerrero

Ricardo Guerrero passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 16, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on May 22, 1948, to Jose Luz and Engracia Castanon Guerrero. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso and a graduate of Jefferson High School. Richy, as he was known to his friends and family, was a proud United States Army Veteran. He retired from the City of El Paso after 25 years of service to our community. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters; Julia Geiger, Petra Molina, and Concepcion Palacios. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Guadalupe P. Guerrero; his son Dr. Richard Guerrero (Irma), and daughters Yvette Armendariz (Mando†) and Yvonne Vallejo (Dan); his brother Juan Guerrero; and his sisters Isabel Waller, Catalina Resendez, Mariana Bear, and Margarita Mitchell. Richy also leaves behind 11 grandchildren; Joey, Joshua, Jonathan, Aaron (Meagan), Ruby, Jackie, Edward, Celeste, Briana, Meagan (Matt) Nikos,  and 2 great-grandchildren; Ryan and baby Santi to honor and cherish his memory. He will always be remembered as the family man that he was and the dedication he had toward his wife, children, family, and the Dallas Cowboys. Richy, the beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather was very loved and will greatly be missed.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM with Rosary at 6:00 PM and a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home- Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr., El Paso, TX 79907. A Mass will begin at 12:30 PM on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 8011 Williamette Ave, El Paso, TX 79907. A Committal service will be at 2:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
