Rene was born in La Grulla,Tx to Abalon Lopez and Mary Attwood. Early in life, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. Rene started life as a farm worker then served in the US Army from 1968 to 1971. He then graduated from UTEP and became a teacher. For 23 years he taught inspired many young minds.
As a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend he was always there for us when we needed help. He was a man of quite kindness and strength. He taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right.
Rene was one of the kindest souls on this planet, he was a gentle, giving man who worked to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage.
