Rene Diaz

Rene Diaz, 87, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2008. He was preceded in death by his father, Porfirio Diaz, mother, Luz Garcia, brothers, Armando, Alberto and Rogelio Diaz. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Reva Lizarraga Diaz, children, Reva Leticia Diaz- Rios, Georgina Cecilia Diaz (Vern Autrey), Federico Rene Diaz (Karen Pech) and Jaime Eduardo Diaz (Adrien). Grandchildren, Joel, Andria and Ian Blizzard, Marisa Rios, Julia and Jacqueline Diaz and Ericka Pech. Great-grandsons, Sean, Ryan and Zachary Kruk. He was commissioned in the U.S. Navy and served in World War II in the Atlantic theatre and in China. He was also a successful local businessman. He enjoyed traveling, golfing but most of all, he loved his family. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil at 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 22 at Sunset Funeral Home, 480 N. Resler. A memorial mass will be at St. Patrick Cathedral at 1:00 p.m. December 23, 2008. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
