Refugio (Cuca) Monarrez, 89. God called her home on Monday, March 13, 2017. Our mother/grandmother showed great strength throughout her life and devotion to her family. She loved unconditionally, loved to cook, and enjoyed playing card games. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Jess, son Guillermo Porras and grandson Aaron Porras. Survived by children: Irma, Hector (Lupe) and Salvador Porras. Grandchildren: Yvette Marquez, Sal Jr., Erik (Marlene), and Hector Porras Jr. Great-grandchildren: Alex, Valery and Angel Marquez. In celebration of her life please join us for Visitation from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home East, 750 N. Carolina.
