Becky passed surrounded by loving family January 19, 2018. Remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt & sister. Preceded in death by parents Francisco & Alicia (Valdes) Escobar, brother Oscar Escobar (Norma). Born & raised in EI Paso, she was a graduate of Austin High & UTEP with a Bachelors of Social Work, a testament to her kind, caring nature. She was married 31 years to her former husband, Jose J Baca Sr (Elaine) & had 4 children, Jose J Baca II, Bernadette M. Cox (Stuart), Daniel R. Baca & Gabriel M Baca Sr (Jenifer). She is the adored grandmother of Cory W. Carter, Christian M. & Marcus J. Baca, Gabriel M. II & Zoey M. Baca & Daniel Paget (Diana), nephew Raul Apodaca Jr, who is like a son & niece Jeannette Escobar, who is like a daughter & many other nieces & nephews whom she loved dearly. She is survived by Marianist Sister Evangeline Escobar & Dolores Smith (Joe). Everyone who met Becky knows she was a warm loving woman who welcomed everyone to her home & fed everyone with her exquisite cooking. She was a second mother to many of her children's friends & always loved, fed & sometimes housed them, with or without her knowledge. Her door was always open & there was always food on the table. Her cooking is famous & taught many people how to cook her fabulous dishes. Her paella, salpicon & margaritas are legendary. Nothing pleased her more than feeding the people she loved. She had a kind word for everyone, gave great advice & warm loving hugs. Devoted to family, was a staunch supporter of the Democratic party & worked tirelessly to help those in need. A remarkable woman who is loved by many people & will truly be missed. The world is a better place for her having been here. Visitation January 26, 2018, 5 - 9pm, Rosary 7, Sunset Funeral Home West.
