Raymundo (Ray) Villalobos

Raymundo (Ray) Villalobos, Sr., born September 27, 1949 and passed away April 28, 2011. He was a dedicated and inspiring elementary school teacher for over 30 years in both San Miguel Elementary of Gadsden School District and Deanna Davenport of Canutillo School District. His unrelentling, selflessness drove him to participate in a Father/Son program at Deanna Davenport. He was an Usher and a member of the Santo Nombre, Caballeros de Colon and Parish Counsel of the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Anthony, NM. He was an avid member of the Stateliners Car Club and enjoyed riding in his cars. He is survived by his wife Socorro Esparza Villalobos and his four sons, Raymundo, Jr., Michael, David and Abel; grandchildren, Jasmine Lizzatte, Tanisha, Nancy, Ruby, Ezrie, Aliah, Janet, Sergio, Andrea, Angelina; great grandchildren, Natalia and Ariana; mother, Esther and preceded in death by his father Silvestre. He touched the hearts and lives of many and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his community. Pallbearers: Larry Sanchez, Joe Regalado, Tony Acuña, David Acosta, Alejo Aldaz, Money Franco. Honorary Pallbearers: Neto Acosta, Manuel Morales and Rudy Burciaga. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Ray’s memories to the DSI Dyalisis, Diabetes Foundation and the Heart Association. Visitation: 4:00-8:00 pm, Sunday, May 1, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with a Vigil at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass: 9:30 am, Monday, May 2, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-West.
