Raymundo I. Solis

Raymundo Inez Solis Raymundo Inez Solis, age 79, of El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 6, 2016 after an extended battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on January 21, 1937, son of the late Santiaga Serafin, and the late Francisco Solis. Mr. Solis was a retired federal employee with Fort Bliss, Texas. He was preceded in death by his sister, Carolina Carmona, and brothers, Felix, Francisco Jr, Gregorio, and Reynaldo. After years of military and federal government service, Mr. Solis enjoyed over 20-years of retirement. He spent quality time with his beloved wife, Beatriz, providing a loving home for his daughter Diane and his granddaughter, Sara, and traveling to visit his daughter Susan as she and her family relocated throughout the country. Mr. Solis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beatriz Estrada; his brother, Aristeo Solis; his sister Eustolia Paz; son, Miguel Solis; daughter-in-law, Carolina Solis; and his daughters, Diane Solis and Susan Solis A.; all of El Paso, Texas. He is additionally survived by his son-in-law, Ruben, eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and other extended family members from Texas, California, Colorado, and Virginia. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11th from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m., at Sunset Funeral Home, 9521 North Loop Drive, El Paso, Texas. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on at 11:15 a.m., Friday, August 12th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 131 South Zaragoza Road, El Paso, TX. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Blvd. El Paso, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Raymundo Solis Family Fund at Government Employees Federal Credit Union (GECU), Alameda Avenue Branch.
