Raymond Semko

August 29, 1928 — February 25, 2012

My beloved husband of 63 years, CSM Raymond Semko passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012. Ray was born in Rankin, Pennsylvania on August 29, 1928. After a short career in the steel mills of Pittsburgh, Ray decided to make the Army his career. Ray was proud to be a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After retiring from the Army, Ray worked at First City Bank before permanently retiring to the Ft. Bliss Golf Club where he golfed and played a lot of pinochle with his cronies. Ray is Survived by his loving wife Nancy Semko, and his four wonderful children: Ray (Randi), Gene (Sharon), Nancy (Alex) and Rob (Peggy). His seven grandchildren (Jessica, Jason, Jeremy, Ray, Renee, Kristen, And Sean) added immense joy to his retirement years. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the tender, compassionate care Ray received at the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home the past two years. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home/Memory Support Unit, 9650 Kenworthy Street, El Paso, TX 79924 (Attn: Susan). Ray, you will forever be in my heart, your loving wife, Nancy. A Graveside service will be at 2:30 PM Monday, March 5, 2012 at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home- Americas.
